Mike has been an attorney for over 30 years. He started his career as a deputy prosecutor for the City of Spokane in 1991. As a deputy prosecutor, he had the opportunity to try over 25 bench and jury trials to a verdict with most of them being successful prosecutions on behalf of the people of Spokane.

Upon leaving the prosecutor’s office and entering civil practice, Mike has achieved numerous successful results for clients by trying bench and jury trials to a verdict and arbitrations to an award. Mike has been recognized by lawyers and judges for his effective trial skills, especially in the area of cross-examination.

Mike devotes his practice exclusively to areas of employment, labor, business, contract, and tort law. More specifically, Mike defends and prosecutes hostile work environment, non-competition, employment agreement, trade secrets, and workplace retaliation and discrimination claims, as well as claims arising under the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Washington's Law Against Discrimination (WLAD), the Equal Pay Act, the Age Discrimination and Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Washington's Minimum Wage Act, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), the WARN Act, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), the Uniform Trade Secrets Act,

In addition to representing plaintiffs and defendants in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and appeals, Mike provides advice, counseling, and consultation services to both employees and employers. Over the course of his 30-year career, Mike has represented employers and employees in countless industries, including, for instance: architectural, healthcare, trucking, automobile, retail, mining, timber, engineering, banking, construction, restaurant, employment for disabled and government.

Mike is most proud of the fact that he has had only one wife (Dana) who is successful in her own right as a teacher, a rarity in this day and age for a trial lawyer, and both of them together (well, mostly Dana) have also raised four accomplished children to adulthood.
